Assets

Assets

Assets are economic resources controlled by an entity (e.g. a company) that have the potential to generate economic benefits for that entity in the future. They can be either tangible (e.g. machinery, real estate) or intangible (e.g. patents, brands). Assets are usually divided in a company's balance sheet into current (short-term) assets and non-current (long-term) assets.
